A recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition on January 13, 2016, titled "Dietary flavonoid intake and incidence of erectile dysfunction", found that adding more fruit to your diet reduced your risk of erectile dysfunction.  Researchers followed the diets of 25,096 men and monitored incidence of erectile dysfunction.  What they found was, those with the highest intakes of anthocyanins, flavones, and flavanones, phytonutrients found in fruit, were able to lower their risk for erectile dysfunction by 14 percent when compared to those who consumed the least.  Researchers suspect a diet rich in fruits coupled with other healthful lifestyle factors aids in the prevention and early treatment of cardiovascular disease by improving vascular conditions.  Erectile dysfunction is typically indicative of narrowing of the arteries, the same disease process that causes coronary artery disease.

Erectile dysfunction is characterized by the inability to achieve and maintain an erection hard enough for penetration.  This ongoing problem can cause a great deal of stress for men, stress on the relationship, and reduce their self confidence.  ED is often a red flag for cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
